Owners of Acclaimed Grove Do-nutz & Deli to Debut Toast, A Farm-to-Table Breakfast and Lunch Concept in Sugar Land, On June 22

Husband and wife team Renda and Tam Hoang, who earned destination status for their Viet-American take on sweet and savory bites at their firstborn restaurant, The Grove Do-nutz & Deli in Fort Bend, are moving into Sugar Land proper for their second course.

The duo are set to debut Toast – a farm-to-table restaurant focusing on breakfast, lunch and brunch service – this Saturday, June 22. To celebrate, diners 21 and over will enjoy one complimentary mimosa to toast the opening, while supplies last from 7 am until 3 pm.

Located in The Crossing at Telfair (300 Promenade Way), the modern and airy space with seating for 50 indoors and 16 alfresco, incorporates industrial elements alongside warm pops of yellow in banquettes lining two walls of windows.

“After six years operating The Grove and the launch of our food truck three years ago, we were ready for a new culinary adventure,” according to Tam Hoang. “With Toast, we are looking to bring a playful, but elevated, breakfast, brunch and lunch option to the Sugar Land area with a focus on locally-sourced ingredients like meats from Ruffino in Bryan.”

As with The Grove, diners can expect cross cultural influences in a menu that will feature an array of gourmet pancakes, specialty toasts, croissant donuts, build-your-own omelets, burgers, sandwiches, bone-in wings plus Vietnamese signatures like double pork chops and shaking beef salad. An extensive craft beer and mimosa program will round out the offerings.

“It’s always exciting to work with creative, independent operators like the Hoangs,” said Capital Retail Properties’ Jacob Weersing. “They not only add to the culinary diversity of the Sugar Land area, but are also representative of the melting pot of people and flavors that has made Houston one of the country’s most vibrant dining scenes.”

Toast will be open seven days a week from 7 am until 3 pm. For more information, call 281-302-6181.
